Beginning, Middle, End
The beginning, middle, and end lesson is an easy lesson that lends practice to reading re-telling and comprehension skills. Follow along step-by-step on your own right here OR follow along with my guidance. Listen here for the accompanying podcast episode.
Materials:
white construction or drawing paper, pen or pencil, colored pencils, markers or crayons (make sure you have at lease green, yellow and red.
Instructions:
Step 1 - Section the paper into 3 sections
Step 2 - Label and outline each section as follows from left to right, “beginning” in green, “middle” in yellow and “end” in red.
Step 3 - draw a picture depicting one event that happened in the beginning, one even that happened in the middle and one event that happened towards the end of the story.
Step 4 - color and hang picture!
*Bonus: Ask the child to retell you their beginning, middle and end events in order.
